I just was surfing around I don't know if this is old news but check out what this guy got as an order from Toyota he works there. In u.S.A.

He saw this:

TRD Supercharger thanks to Matrix!!!
I work at a dealer, and I just recived a fax from TRD
I do not have a scanner but it looked like this:
TRD
MATRIX
TRD Sales Department

Product Required on sale date Dealer Cost
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cat-back Exhaust February,2002 $270.00
18" Wheel/Tire February,2002 $1,500.00
Cold Air Intake March,2002 $150.00
Headers April,2002 $500.00
Grille Surround May,2002 $250.00
Supercharger February,2003 $2,500.00
Lowering Springs February,2002 $140.00
Coilovers July,2002 $1,000.00
Quickshifter April,2002 $100.00

Keep in mind this is dealer cost, But good news!!!
2003 Supercharger is for all four bangers from what I heard.
Kinda long for supercharger, but worth keeping warranty.
Everyone Probably already knows but the matrix has the same
engine as the Celica GT and GTS.

they do now.

Vortech made a blowoff valve for their chargers I am pretty sure you can add one to the trd one.

John, I think the point of a supercharger/turbocharger is to add power, not make whistling noises ;)

hahaha

If you want, go buy the supercharger, and the rest of us will pitch in and buy you one of those fake plastic front-mount intercoolers with the speaker that plays a blowoff sound :D

In John's case, I think he's looking for farting noises rather than whistling noises...hehehe
On a more serious note.....Supercharger..mmmmmm definately something in my radar scope now....

i dunno.. an intercooler is a good idea even for a supercharged car.. install a NOS system to charge the air into the intercooler.. and presto!!

Turbo,so far there is no complete turbo kit on the street for celica, but I heard you can get the Blitz one and have people make the kit for you.And that would cost arount $8,000 at least. I am looking for one too

Considering that Toyota now has 3 different cars on the street that use the same VVTLi engine(Celica's, Matrix's and Pontiac Vibe's - which is actually a Matrix made for Pontiac) the Supercharger may actually come out. Keep your fingers crossed.

but rumors are saying that the supercharger is mainly made for the matrix since it has more room than the celica under the hood.

Does anyone know if the rumored TRD supercharger for Matrix will work in an MR2 Spyder? That would be tremendous.

I was at a Toyota dealer here in US and I talked to a guy that sells TRD parts. He told me that they will probably have a Supercharger for Celica GT models only, but not for GTS model. He said something about the compression on the GTS model being higher than GT that it wouldn't do much if they made supercharger for it. That's what I found out about TRD Supercharger for celica.

no because supras were made to be turboed.

the tacoma charger does not even come close to fitting on your engine. although I would imagin you could custom it somehow.

Hey guys, I work in the parts dept. of a Toyota dealer with a seperate TRD section and so far, according to all in-house memos, the only things that have been released for the Matrix by Toyota or TRD are a stainless steel sport muffler ($490), 18" wheel/tire package ($1380), lowering springs ($215), Clutch set ($268), carbon fibre dash kit ($115),a half-mask(bra)($56) and mudguards ($ unknown). There is a rumour about the supercharger, cat-back, and short throw shifter but nothing concrete yet. Keep your fingers crossed. By the way, the Matrix in Sport Compact Car involves custom welding, install of wires, and a whole lot of money for about 90 HP. Not worth it.

neoweedy, if you go back about a year in some of the import mags, you'll find a yellow Celica pumping 500+ HP. Quite impressive. Of course, it's nothing that most of us could ever afford to do.

in response to the supercharged matrix, a guy just brought one into our dealership for an oil change: lowered, header, full exhaust, and an intercooled supercharger. I am still trying to get his name to find out where he got the goodies. let you know as soon as I do.

For turboing a 91 gt check this site out for a full turbo kit.
http://www.burientoyota.com/frameset1.asp?LINK=Parts&MAIN=parts_wildcard1
and look at the 5sfe turbo. I'd say it's a pretty good deal 50hp for $2,500.00
